Matthew Wizinsky – author of Design after Capitalism – will give a brief presentation of the main ideas in the book. This will be followed by a discussion of these topics with Jorge Camacho (Strategic Designer & Foresight Strategist, Co-founder at Diagonal Estudio, Research Affiliate at Institute for the Future). There will also be an opportunity for participants to ask questions and join an open conversation.
About the speakers
Matthew Wizinsky is a designer, researcher, educator, and author on contemporary issues in design practice and research. He has over 20 years of professional experience in graphic, interactive, exhibition, and experiential design. He is an Associate Professor in the Ullman School of Design at the University of Cincinnati, PhD researcher in Transition Design at Carnegie Mellon University, Associate Editor for the communication design journal Visible Language, and author of the book Design after Capitalism (MIT Press, 2022).
Jorge Camacho is a strategic designer, foresight consultant, researcher, and lecturer. He is a co-founder of Diagonal: research, design, and futures studio based in Mexico City. He is also a Research Affiliate at the Institute for the Future, and a board member of Plurality University Network (U+).
